UGC Chairman emphasizes on maintaining the quality of food

Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh at a seminar emphasized on maintaining the quality of food. He expressed his concern over the problem of food adulteration in the country by a section of unscrupulous traders disregarding the danger of adulterated food poses to the human health. Professor Mannan was speaking as the Chief Guest in the inaugural ceremony of a seminar on ‘Food Analysis Laboratory Website and Training on Quality Assurance and Quality Control of Food Analytical Laboratories.’ The seminar was held at the Centre for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS) of Dhaka University today (25.01.2017). This seminar is part of a project funded by the University Grants Commission under Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) of the World Bank. Presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr. A A M S Arefin Siddique, Dr.  Nazma Shaheen of Institute of Nutrition and Food Science and the Sub-Project Manager of the project briefed the participants about the seminar.
