Thai University to sign MoU with UGC
Mahidol University, the leading university of Thailand will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh shortly for cooperation and collaboration in the field of higher education and research.
Under the MoU, Mahidol University will offer scholarships, fellowships and training facilities for the teachers, researchers, students and the executives of UGC and the universities.
A six-member delegation led by Professor Dr. Patcharee Lertrit, Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies of Mahidol University called on Professor Dr. M. Shah Nowaz Ali, Chairman (In-Charge) of UGC on 27 September 2018. During the courtesy call, Mrs. Patcharee discussed elaborately on scholarships and education based development programmes.
Professor Shah Nowaz Ali said that UGC wants to build close ties with international universities including Mahidol University for internationalization of Bangladesh’s higher education. He also proposed to initiate at least five scholarships for the Bangladesh students.
“The exchange programme will enhance our tertiary education mainly research and development activities,” he added.
Mahidol University, the oldest university of Thailand is famous for comprehensive studies such as Medical Science, Engineering and ICT. Currently, it is offering Postgraduate Scholarships for the international students.
Dr. Md. Khaled, Secretary, Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam, Director and Md. Maksudur Rahman Bhuiyan, Additional Director, UGC, were present.
